We got lucky with some beautiful weather and were welcomed with open arms in all the stores we entered. there will be a full story and pictorial coming in an upcoming issue of Bicycle Retailer, or you can go to the site blog and see some early pics. For this blog I picked one shot from the last day of Gene Oberprillar owner of "One on One."
A couple reasons why... He's a former racer. He has an awesome scene around the store. It's not focused just on bikes- they run a deli/coffee shop in the same location as well as supporting the local art community. While it was really more fixie/single speed oriented (ok- all) I dug the feel. Listening to him be interviewed I could tell he was still passionate about bikes and doing exactly what he wanted while understanding the burnout could come at any time.
