The crowds were nuts- it was supposed to be raining but we got lucky. I had set-up a remote in one corner (none of those worked out) and then camped out near the start. After getting bored I started wandering. Late in the race I found what I thought would be a cool shot and weaved my way through the crowd. I had my pass and that helped a bit.
So I get where I want to be and sit down to get low and start shooting some test shots waiting for the next Rabobank riders to come through. There was a young kid standing on a cooler with a Rebel and just as I'm about to ask him what his shots look like his mom steps in and asks how long I'm going to be there. I explain that I'm working and wasn't sure exactly. Then pops chimes in and says I have 2 minutes. I again explain I'm working and am not in the way and will move as soon I'm confident I got the shot I want.
Apparently this wasn't good enough and both the mom and dad get in my face. I realize I'm wearing Giant gear so I hunker down low and tell them I'll bail after the next Rabobank rider comes through. That calmed them down so I waited and got next rider. I didn't bother to chimp the photo. As I left I thanked them for being so patient and did everything I could to not hit the "test fire button" on my flash while it was pointed at the dad.
Here's the ad:

The photo is actually the second in a series of three. Some of the details of the shot:
